How to order a Portrait

 

So you’re thinking of ordering a painting or drawing! Well you have come to the right place, and I will be happy to work with you to getting a unique piece of art with a rosie view. You may be new mum who wants a painting of their cutie or a happy pet owner who wants a painting of their fur baby.

Whatever the subject I will work with you to through each step in the process to capture the essence in the image so that you can look on for years to gone in the comforts of your home or make someone day by providing a unique hand crafted gift.

There are a few steps to bear in mind before considering in commissioning a portrait

Step 1. When considering placing a commission it is important to consider the time it takes from start to finish, this can take from 1-6 months depending on the size subject and medium. We will have an initial chat through zoom, on phone or in person to ensure any questions are answered before we start to work together on this commission.

Step 2. I work from reference photos so please make sure you have a high quality image (or as best as you can find!) that you would like me to work from. If there is a combination of photos we can discuss this during the initial chat to see what would work best! I usually take a 50% deposit before starting and then the final amount upon completion. If this does not suit we can discuss alternative arrangements to suit you.

Step 3. Painting begins after the deposit has been secured and relevant reference images have been received. If the painting is in oil, it does need time to dry so this needs to be taken into consideration when commissioning an oil painting.

Step 4. If you wish to Frame the painting , I can arrange this for an additional cost, and we can discuss the type of frame you would like to suit the interiors of your home etc.

Step 5. If you live locally, I can deliver the painting directly to you so I can insure the safe arrival of your painting. Postage within the Island of Ireland is free. There will be an additional cost for postage for overseas clients. Any postage I will send out will be tracked to ensure the safe arrival to the customer. Details of pricing can be found below.
